Lauren Rainey is a Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner who works closely alongside Dr. Russell in both the Newark and Milford offices. She originally graduated from Neumann University in Aston, PA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Lauren originally planned on attending medical school, as she dreamed of working with patients in the medical field her entire life. However, after wanting to start a family sooner rather than later, she decided to go back to school for nursing instead. Lauren attended Drexel University’s highly rigorous Accelerated Career Entry nursing program and graduated with a second bachelor’s degree (BSN) 11 months later. While attending school, Lauren became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and developed a love for emergency nursing and trauma. After becoming a registered nurse, she took a job in the busy emergency department of Kent General hospital, where she worked for 6 years. While working in the ER, Lauren helped develop a new nurse internship, became a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, and was the recipient of The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She also challenged her expertise by obtaining both adult and pediatric emergency nurse board certifications. She quickly found a passion for women’s health while working there and wanted to further her education to become a nurse practitioner. Lauren attended Drexel University’s Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2017. While studying women’s health, she fell in love with the evolving field of infertility and was fortunate enough to have clinical time at the Delaware Institute for Reproductive Medicine. It was at this office that she confirmed her love and passion for helping patient’s reach their goal of having a baby.
Lauren has since received certification from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine for reproductive endocrinology and infertility nursing. She also received a board certification as a menopause practitioner from the National American Menopause Society. She is a proud member of multiple organizations including Sigma Theta Tau; the international honor society of nursing, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, National American Menopause Society and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Lauren lives with her husband and two kids in Delaware, where they are active in the foster care community. Her favorite activities include working out with her CrossFit community, reading mystery novels, and spending time outdoors with her family.
