I have been a part of the DIRM team since 1997 and coordinate the care for our patients in our satellite office in Milford, DE. I truly love what I do! As a nurse for over 30 years, I have a variety of experience involving critical care and ICU nursing with CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications, home care nursing, and OBGYN and family practice nursing. I feel this brings a valuable knowledge base to my work here. Working for DIRM and Dr. Russell, I have also obtained my ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) Reproductive and Infertility Nurse certificate as well as Male Reproductive Anatomy and Physiology Certificate. Since we are a satellite office, I also manage the laboratory quality assurance as outlined and required by CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). My memberships include ASRM, ANA (American Nurses Association), and DNA (Delaware Nurses Association).
As the managing nurse in the Milford office I follow my patients from their first appointments at DIRM to help meeting their goals of a successful pregnancy. My work with my patients includes extensive education regarding their testing, infertility and treatment, performing their blood work and running the labs, performing ultrasounds, cultures and endometrial biopsies. I enjoy walking through the entire process of my patients’ journeys with them. DIRM provides the highest state of the art programs available for fertility and this provides exciting opportunities for our patients.
My husband and I experienced infertility for 4 years before we were able to conceive our twins and I feel strongly that my own journey through infertility, pregnancy loss and finally success helps me to empathize with my patients and give them guidance and support through their journeys.
